The Southern Company

Taylor & Mathis developed the corporate headquarters complex for The Southern Company at Perimeter Center in 1985.  The project encompassed a 14-story office tower with 372,500 SF, a 300-seat cafeteria, and a six-level parking garage over a subterranean data center.  In conjunction with the development of the new building, Taylor & Mathis also did a complete renovation of an adjacent eight-story office building containing 183,000 SF that was constructed in 1971, and then connected the two buildings with an enclosed, climate-controlled pedestrian bridge.
