Live, Work, Play Village Underway in Kennesaw Area
ATLANTA –January 15, 2006 – Atlanta-based Taylor & Mathis has begun development of The Village at TownPark, a mixed-use project on a thirteen-plus acre site at the corner of Chastain Road and George Busbee Parkway, between I-75 and I-575 in Kennesaw, GA. The project is located within TownPark, a 243-acre master planned office park that is also being developed by Taylor & Mathis. Guided by new urbanism design principles, The Village at TownPark will include 26,000 square feet of loft-style office space, 35,600 square feet of retail shops and restaurants, 42 luxury townhomes and a seven-story, 156-room Embassy Suites hotel.
Taylor & Mathis is the master development partner for the overall Village at TownPark project and will develop, own and operate the retail and office components. Third-party developers are developing the residential and hotel components. GS Development, LLC, a Tifton, GA-based firm, has purchased the hotel site and will develop the Embassy Suites, a Hilton brand, and the first full-service hotel to be developed in the Town Center submarket. The hotel will be among the first of Embassy Suites’ new prototype, which features enhanced public area spaces and a more residential style guest room. The Columns Group, Inc., an Atlanta-based firm specializing in upscale residential projects, will develop and market the townhomes.
Construction has recently begun on the retail and office components, which will deliver to the market in June 2007. Development of the hotel and townhomes will begin in first quarter of 2007, and will be completed in 2008.

TownPark currently includes over 1.2 million square feet of office space, and such on-site amenities as: Fairfield Inn, Residence Inn, several restaurants including: Los Reyes, O’Charley’s and Sidelines Grill; plus a conference center and fitness center on 243-acres. There are over 30 undeveloped acres in the park, which could ultimately accommodate an additional 600,000 square feet of office and/or mixed-use development. TownPark is located one mile north of Town Center mall and spans the entire north frontage of Chastain Road, the major six-lane east/west arterial between I-75 and I-575.
