ATLANTA—August 15, 2007 – Atlanta-based Taylor & Mathis’ Industrial Division announced today that Meggitt Defense Systems’ Firearms Training Systems (FATS) has signed a ten-year lease with Taylor & Mathis to develop a headquarters facility on their behalf at Suwanee Pointe Business Park in Gwinnett County Georgia. Upon completion, the facility will total 205,645 square feet and will house the national headquarters for FATS. The building will be situated on a 16-acre site within the 50-acre master-planned business services and distribution-park located in the heart of the Buford Highway and Peachtree Industrial submarket. Taylor & Mathis.
The headquarters facility will include approximately 80,000 SF of high-end office space, along with state-of-the-art light manufacturing and warehousing in support of the Meggitt and FATS business operations. These operations will include manufacture of virtual live-fire training systems used by militaries, law enforcement and worldwide security agencies. The facility will be located along Brogdon Road at the entrance to Suwanee Pointe and is expected to be delivered and operational in February 2008.

“FATS has a very intricate and high-end manufacturing process that Taylor & Mathis was able to design into the building,” said Taylor & Mathis’ vice president of development, Mike S. Irby. Getting a deep understanding of their operations has been interesting. It was definitely necessary in order to make this product work for them. They’re a very good fit for Suwanee Pointe,” added Irby.
